As a mama it's easy to get overwhelmed. So many things to be aware of and research to help guide our decisions. Toys are just one category of many. I have spent countless hours googling, browsing amazon, and various websites to find toys/teethers that are safe for my daughter. She just turned 7 months old so everything goes in her mouth, so its very important to me that her toys are non toxic. Of course we know to avoid BPA, but there are so many other harmful toxins that are present in plastics. I decided to create this post as a compilation of some of my favorite items I have found that are safe and totally delightful too! Here are some of our top picks.
Boho baby heaven
These adorable safe soft cotton toys are made by Inez and her Mum in Hungary. Blossom bunny was the first gift I bought when I found out we were having a girl! She is simply adorable. I then saw her adorable rattles, and blocks I decided I wanted a custom made one. Inez spent time messaging me making sure that I had the exact, colors, design and wording I wanted. She was so incredibly helpful and truly cares and puts so much time and diligence in each piece. These have become cherished custom heirloom toys that will last forever and be passed on for generations. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this shop is and how glad I am to support shops like theirs with wonderful people that have truly become friends in a faraway place. Bannor Toys
These have quickly become some of my favorite wood toys. Bannor toys are handmade by a husband and wife team in Iowa. The quality of these toys are incredible! Their teether is naturally antimicrobial and super easy to re-sand and then finish with raw unfiltered coconut oil. Our current favorites are this maple camera teether and this adorable push duck is going in bebe girl's Easter basket! Head over to their site Bannortoys.
Maileg
Another one of our favorite brands is Maileg! They have the most adorable hand made stuffed toys. This one has become one of my daughters favorites fast! It's the perfect size for little hands! Also, they are all simply adorable 😍 😍 😍. This sweet bunny and more can be found at maileg.
Plan Toys
All of their toys are made in the US and with nontoxic materials/paints. This delightful teether/rattle by plan toys is super simple, but it is seriously one of my daughters favorites. It's the perfect size for grasping--the little wings crinkle and the wood is smooth and easy to clean. After cleaning/sanitizing this toy I also re-surface it with raw unfiltered coconut oil. It will naturally darken the wood for a bit but it makes me feel good knowing how safe it is for it to go in her mouth. Plan toys can be found at plantoys and on amazon.
Green toys
These have made the top of our list as well! In general I avoid plastic toys like the plague, because let's be honest even if they are marked BPA free there are still other lingering toxins. These however, are made in the USA with recycled milk jugs and are completely safe and free of toxins. This shape sorter and stacker have become some of our favortes. Greentoys can be found on their own website and on amazon.
Natural teether toys
You must be thinking "wow I didn't know a teether could be so adorable" Ya, well neither did I. I carefully researched and scoured the web forever and stumbled upon these brands, they are all wonderful.

The Deer bracelet teether and adorable rubber duck are by Oli and Carol, these are made out of natural hevea rubber and are as safe as can be. The deer fits on baby's wrist so it is always in reach and easy to use. The rubber ducky is one of their bath toys that can also be used as a teether and the best part is NO HOLES, you know what that means, no yucky moisture or bath water getting trapped and growing mold or bacteria. We love these! They can be found at several shops online, or Locally at Itsy bitsy bums.
This darling mouse is by The Great Pretenders. She is also made from natural rubber. This little darling is perfect for holding, cuddling, and chewing. She is one of our absolute favorites and can be found on amazon and target.com.
The little star teether is by naturesutten. This one is smaller and perfect for attaching to a paci clip to keep it close by. You can find these on amazon.com as well.
Lastly we have this adorable ice cream cone teether by Sweetooth. Its name is perfect because it actually smells like the sweetest vanilla you ever smelled. It is also wonderful because this one is made of food grade silicone and can be put in the refrigerator, freezer and through the dishwasher to sanitize. This is a must have and can be found on amazon or locally at Itsy bitsy bums.
