GROW IT

First pick your plants.
We love shopping at family tree nursery. It's a christian family owned store, their selection is incredible, and their prices are affordable! They have several locations so check them out.
Make sure to purchase the correct soil and your desired planters.
> For all succulents and cacti you will need cactus soil.
> You will want your planter to be a little bit deeper than the plant you will be planting in it, or a perfect fit (if you are not trying to grow larger).
> Choose some rocks, moss, or your desired soil topper if you want to decorate the top of your soil.
Pair your plant with the best fitting pot.
Now it's time to get started :)
Best method.
I like to put a little bit of soil in the bottom of the planter and then insert the plant to make sure the desired fit is achieved.
checklist
> If it's a plant you are wanting to grow, make sure there is at least a little wiggle room for your plant.
> once you have it the way you want it, it's time to fill in the soil around your plant.
> make sure all of your roots are fully covered.
Now it's time to repeat steps for your other plants :)
Succulent & Cacti CARE
The wonderful thing about these plants is they are not HIGH MAINTENANCE.
> During their dormant months (late fall/winter) it is literally best to make sure they are getting light and then basically forget about them. For the dormant months we find it best to use a mister and basically mist plants monthly, or when the soil is completely dry.
> During their growing months (spring/summer/early fall) You will want to up your watering to bi-weekly, unless your plants are now outside in direct sunlight, then they may need water more often. The best thing to do is to observe signs on your plant, is it dry and leaves are dropping off? If so then water. Be careful however because the killer of these plants is actually over watering which can cause root rot. Signs of root rot are wilty plants as well but usually the plant is starting to get a bit soft/soggy. You want to avoid this at all costs. If you think you have over watered and the plant is too wet, pull your plant out of the pot carefully lay out in a dry sunny spot and allow the roots to dry out. Then repeat the potting method.
Mister & Pot
This is the mister and watering can Elle use. The mister is a brass Haws mister and can be found on amazon. The watering can was an ikea find. :)
HAPPY PLANTING!
